1. About these terms

These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern the engagement of David Hughes ("I", "me", "my") for storytelling performances, workshops and collaborations ("the services").

By booking the services, you ("the organiser") confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.

2. Bookings & confirmations

• Bookings are confirmed in writing by email, including date, time, fee and agreed requirements.
• Please check the details when you receive your confirmation and let me know of any errors promptly.

3. Fees & payment

• The agreed fee is confirmed at booking. Private bookings may require a deposit, with the balance due before the event.
• Travel and accommodation expenses, where applicable, are agreed in advance.

4. Cancellation & changes

• If you cancel, deposit terms are as agreed at booking. If I have to cancel, any fees paid are refunded in full.
• Changes to date or time are subject to availability.

5. Event requirements

• The venue should be accessible and meet any technical needs (such as sound or staging) agreed at booking.
• For events involving children, safeguarding arrangements are agreed in advance and followed on the day.

6. Content & recordings

• Content is tailored to the audience and occasion agreed at booking.
• Recording or filming the performance requires prior agreement.

7. Liability

• The services are provided with reasonable care and skill.
• I am not liable for matters outside my control, such as venue or third-party arrangements.
• Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other matter that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

8. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of the services, please contact me and I will do my best to resolve the issue promptly and fairly.

9. Your data

Your details are used only to manage the booking and deliver the services. See my Privacy Policy for full details.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes that cannot be resolved by agreement will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
